Acne Treatment in Dwarka

Medical Prescription

Acne treatment aims at reducing skin oil production, increasing the rate of skin cell turnover, fighting infections caused by bacteria, and reducing skin inflammation. We at Skin Decor, offer clinically proven regimes which are usually a combination of topical and oral medications. We also offer customized skincare and makeup routines suitable for acne-prone skin.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peels work by removing the top layer of skin, allowing new, healthy skin to present. Overall, chemical peels are a great way of maintaining and rejuvenating the skin. They are a more effective and safer exfoliation option than physical exfoliators like topical scrubs, etc. They can be done for full-face or applied as spot peels to reduce the inflammation. Acne medications take time to work, chemical peels in conjunction with them are a great option to expedite the results. They also help to lighten the hyperpigmented acne scars.

At Skin Decor, we choose the chemical peel that is right for your skin and keep a range of peels that we can customize, combine, and choose based on skin type and needs.

Medical Facials

Medical facials may be a great option for people experiencing problems that stem from acne outbreaks. With regular medical facials and spas, you can control your particular acne-based issues far more effectively. While many people are raving about spa facials being very relaxing, a medical acne facial like aloe facial, oxy facial, etc. is focused on giving you the type of skin that is more resistant to acne bacteria.

Light Treatment

Blue light therapy is another option for the treatment of acne. Blue light kills the acne-causing bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes, or P acnes, which can cause inflammation. P acnes is sensitive to blue light. Using the blue light eliminates the bacteria found in the oil glands in the skin. The result is less oil in the skin and fewer bacteria, leading to the resolution of acne in the treated areas. At Skin Decor, eliminating the bacteria from the skin with help from blue light decreases the inflammation associated with red pimples seen in acne. After a few sittings, the blemishes disappear and skin regains its normal appearance.

Recommended for?

We recommend the blue light treatment to acne patients with red pimples and to those who wish to avoid prescription medication.

At Skin Decor, the laser treatments for acne and the residual scars aim at minimizing the inflammation and the appearance of scars from old acne outbreaks. Laser treatments for acne scars focus light on the top layers of your skin to break up scar tissue alongside encouraging new, healthy skin cells to grow and replace the scar tissue.

How does the treatment work?

Laser treatment works in two ways:

  • Firstly, the heat from the laser works to remove the top layer of the skin where a scar has formed. Once the top layer of the scar peels off, the skin appears smoother, and the appearance of the scar is less noticeable.

  • As the scar tissue breaks apart, heat and light from the laser also encourage new, healthy skin cells to grow. Blood flow is drawn to the area by the heat of the laser, hence reducing inflammation as blood vessels in the scar are targeted. All this combines to make scars look less raised and red, giving them a smaller appearance. It also promotes the healing of the skin.

Dermarolling is a form of micro-needling, involving the use of a mini wheel covered with hundreds of tiny needles to gently prick the face. They look like mini torture devices but, believe us, they work miracles in clearing acne scars, fading fine lines, and evening out skin tone. A derma-roller creates tiny pricks around the skin and gives enough space in between so the wound healing response takes over leading to a smoother, more even, and plumper complexion.

For whom Dermarolling is best?

It can be used by anyone. Someone that has acne scarring, someone with larger pores, someone who just wants a skin-tightening boost. For scarring, you'll want a thicker and deeper needle. But some people should steer clear of derma rolling, including anyone with eczema, psoriasis, and warts (which are prone to spreading, so rolling all over one’s face isn't ideal). For anyone with acne, one shouldn't roll over cystic skin or an open wound from a zit because it'll spread bacteria all over the face.

Growth Factor Therapy:

We at Skin Decor, often recommend Growth Factor as an add-on therapy to laser acne scar treatments, to deliver the best results possible to our acne scar patients.

Acne is one of the most common conditions I see as a dermatologist. It has a great impact on one's self-esteem and overall well being. A common misconception is that acne is caused by being unsanitary or not cleansing enough. The etiology of acne is complex and multifactorial. Dirt, oil, and makeup can clog pores and contribute to it. It’s also aggravated by external factors like diet, stress, pollution, and hormones. Some people may experience the severe form of this disorder a little later than adolescence and that is most bothersome. There is no cure for acne but with a lot of effective treatment options, your skin can significantly improve.
